Testimonials

"Noah's talents were obvious to me early on. I had become familiar with his music and film work through membership in a local songwriter's group. I called him on a lark one day, and asked him to direct a music video for me of an original song from my newly finished album. Noah saw my vision, locked into it, and added what I can only call a touch of genius. He not only succeeded but far surpassed my expectations. Noah's creative instincts and sensibilities are extraordinary. He was extremely efficient and finished the project on time and within budget. This was a collaboration I will always be grateful for and proud of. Needless to say, I would highly recommend Noah for any music or film project you are considering."

"I have worked with Noah for the last 2 years writing and producing songs for sync licensing. Noah is a great musician/producer/songwriter who can add life to your music. If Noah chooses to do a project for you, then he puts his heart into that project. He also has a knack for getting the sound you need, to take your song to the next level. I feel his expertise is with vocals and drums. When it comes to production and mixing he will get the sound you're looking for. I am really happy with my latest song that Noah produced for me, 'Take Me to the Top.'
I recommend Noah as a top-line producer.

Let's Make Music!

From accessible to experimental ... I love to make music. I have just recently opened to help other artists with their creative works. I'm also an artist and musician, and I come from the perspective of the DIY artist. I believe great records can be made without big expenses and long timelines. If I'm a good fit for your work, my rates are reasonable and I offer a very customized experience because I only work on a small number of projects per month. I work with your budget to find an affordable and professional solution that flatters your art.

My studio is an unpretentious, relaxed, full-stack digital recording space in a quiet rural setting. It is still just a personal project studio, but it has advanced features and sound treatment. Everything is plugged in "ready to record," eliminating lengthy setups. I can record artists, singer-songwriters, and small bands of any genre:
  • Sonic laboratory for experimentation.
  • Professional microphones from brands like Shure, Neumann, AKG, ElectroVoice and Audix, with several pieces of analog recording gear for extra mojo.
  • Virtually unlimited multitrack mixing, and 18 simultaneous channels of 24 bit digital recording.
  • Professional recording, mixing, mastering and restoration software.
  • Advanced AI tools.
  • Remote collaboration with anyone in the world.
  • Several organic and virtual instruments- drums, percussion, guitars, other stringed instruments, amplifiers, keyboards.
  • I can use multitracks recorded at your home studio, or a studio of your choice (depending on quality).
  • COMING SOON: 4-track reel-to-reel analog tape recording.

I have a cat, but the main production area is animal-free.

FAQ & General Info

Please feel free to > Contact me < with questions anytime.

What payments do you accept? Cash, PayPal or Venmo is accepted. Sorry, no checks or credit cards.

How does a project begin?
First- > Contact me < to book a quick 30 minute Zoom call free of charge to discuss your project! We have a chat to see if your project is a good fit for the services I offer. If not, I suggest alternative studios or solutions. I then ask a few questions and within 1-3 business days I provide you a quote by email. To get started, you reply to the email with approval of the quote, and then I begin booking time on my calendar. A Zoom meeting or invitation to my studio is scheduled to begin pre-production.

What is Work-for-Hire?
Where I am not party to you within a royalty splt (collaboration agreement), licensing agreement or publishing agreement, all work is automatically implied to be under a work-for-hire agreement. Work-for-hire means I do not own any portion of your copyright. "Liner notes" credit is always very much appreciated but not required.

What is "All-In" Pricing?
You get a finished release-ready record of your song for a fixed price. No billing surprises. I produce your track or video end-to-end: From pre-production to recording, editing, mixing and mastering. For the "all-in" package to be available, I (Noah) need to be able to produce your song (with you as the artist or co-producer). If you intend on having more than one producer, or another producer, I will only work for hire at my hourly rates.

How is the "all-in" price estimated?
The fixed per-song price be estimated and quoted based on the requirements of the song. What studio will the song be recorded in? What musicians are needed ? How much work needs to be done to get the song or video to a professional level, including the number of parts need to be created from scratch? How much editing may be required? How many total tracks may be needed to mix? What is your budget? Etc., etc... Mastering services do not need to be purchased to get the "all-in" production package. The "all-in" package is the best value I offer.

What does a song typically cost?
I try hard to come in with the lowest possible price for your song while maintaining the highest quality. Typical per song "all-in" price can range on the low side at 150 USD for raw, unedited "Tiny Desk" style productions ...up to 550 USD + for more polished commerical-ready records. Hourly rates are also available for individual services. Total cost varies by the degree of complexity of the production.

Do you offer discounts?
Heck yeah! I offer a 10% loyalty discount for return clients and for the "all-in" per-song rate when you want to record an EP or full album..

I'm not near your studio. How do I still work with you?
I have clients all over North America, and I'll work with you wherever you are in the world! I use Zoom meetings, WhatsApp, SMS and email and I am able to swap files with you over the internet to collborate on production.

How does recording work?
If you are remote, you will likely record at another studio or record at home. I can then take the files you generate on your end and import them into my studio to do my work. Guide tracks for recording can be provided.
If you are local (west or southwest Michigan), we can work out of my studio, or another suitable local studio. My studio is a very capable and affordable option. It punches above its weight in terms of cost efficiency, sound and equipment. My studio has a 2 hr minimum.

NOTE: When using another studio, the rates and policies of that studio may differ from my studio.

What about recording parts at home?
Sure! But first, especially if I have never heard output from your home studio, I might ask for a sample of the recording before you commit to capturing a whole performance. This is so I can assist in suggesting adjustments to the recording process so that we can meet a professional standard. I can even provide basic tutorial free of charge. If you are in my area, I can even provide in-person consult. I also offer my own educational resources and links to good tutorials online. If the quality needed cannot be achieved in your home studio, I will recommend my studio or another studio instead.

What is the payment due?
You are invoiced by email or text after each session.

HOURLY:    Payment in full is due before files are sent to you. Partial payments may get you an audio or video preview.

"ALL-IN" fixed price:    At least 25% of the per-song price is due when at least 4 hours of production work has been completed. For example, if the per-song price is 200 USD, payment due would only be 50 USD at the 4 hour mark.. This payment is applied to work on your song and is non-refundable.
What do I get with the 25% payment?  You can start receiving audio or video previews of each session, and this payment is applied to finishing your song. You can also get rough guide tracks (with click) of the song if you are recording parts in your own space. NOTE: An audio or video preview is not release-ready, but it gives you a close approximation of the end product as it is completed.

PAYING IN FULL after the session or up-front: Entitles you to full, downloadable files of the song immediately after each session. This is recommended.

You may use PayPal credit also if budget is highly constrained.

What musicians are available?
You obviously can be your own musician or bring your own musicians or band, but they do need to be able to play in tune and in time. I make myself available as a default option if you do not have access to musicians. I do not charge for my playing on top of recording rates when I am your producer, essentially making me a free musician when I am your producer. For my session playing (not as your producer): Typical quote is 3 to 5 hours per song - or $60 to $100 me. . A 24 bit recording is free when my musician rate applies. If other musicians are hired, rates will vary.

How do revisions work?
Mixes and masters get up to two (2) free revisions. Additional revisions are 30 USD each. New parts or production elements fall outside the scope of a standard revision and may require additional production time. I encourage you to do a "fresh listen" after taking a break (preferably 24 hours) from production. This ensures you have "fresh ears" and do not focus on things that might not matter to the emotion of the song. Having your notes with timestamps helps speed up the revision process. I humbly ask, out of courtesy, for you to respond with revision notes no later than 7 days from delivery.

What is delivered?
24 bit WAV and 16 bit MP3 files (with metadata), or 1080p MP4 files and additional audio or video formats upon request. Downloadable copies of the session cannot be delivered until payment is current. Audio or video previews on DISCO can still be provided after partial payment. Files are delivered via WeTransfer, Dropbox, or Google Drive.

What about STEMs?
All the sessions' STEMs (STEreo Masters) and multitracks are rendered and archived after each session. STEMs of individual groups (bass, drums, etc.) can be provided upon request. An instrumental STEM version of the mix is free, additional STEM groups are 30 USD for each export of all the STEMs.

How long do you keep my files?
As long as possible! I save 3 backups of all work, 2 on-site backups and 1 full backup in the cloud. This data is archived indefinitely, but realistically I cannot guarantee to have these files for eternity. So, I encourage you to download all the product I deliver and archive it in your own file store.

What file formats are accepted?
AUDIO:
Any audio file format 16 bit or greater. WAV 24 Bit is preferred for the best quality. Sample rate is not critical, but 44.1 kHz or greater is required. I record at 48 kHz. I can accept voice memos (m4a), but these are generally not usable for most sources except sound effects, but I have used voice memos on records before.
All files must be properly named with the instrument or sound name. Each multitrack file should be the same length, and every file should start at the same place. Please provide a dry (no effects, compression or EQ) version of your file also. Do NOT normalize the file in your software. Do NOT clip the output level prior to rendering the file. Please include BPM.

IMAGES:
 PNG, JPG or TIFF

VIDEO:
24 -120 fps video files with fixed frame rate.

Should I get Mastering?
Yes! Mastering is strongly encouraged whether I do it, or you hire a dedicated mastering engineer. When I deliver mixes, they have some pre-mastering processing on them, but they may not yet be optimized for streaming, and this is why it is important that every song is mastered prior to release. I master to a competitive volume for your song and genre, targeting the format and peak requirements for DSPs (streaming).

Can I attend a mix session in-person?
Yes! When possible, I really encourage in-person sessions for mixes or mix revisions, but it is not required.

What is NOT provided?
I do not provide distribution, physical media printing, social media campaigns, press releases, or marketing services. I can generate AI-based artwork by request. I can promote your releases on my own social media accounts with your permission. If you are hiring me as a producer, I do not write your song under work-for-hire. Writing or composing requires a collboration agreement, which can sometimes be a possibility. But typically, the assumption is that you have already written and composed the song, and you just need a producer to make your record.

How do I cancel studio time?
Please - Do your best to submit cancellations 24 hours in advance as a courtesy. Even though I do not charge a cancellation fee for my studio, you could still be subject to another studio's cancellation charges.

General Policies

Act of God/Disasters: In the event of a major unforseen event, health or financial issue- either from the artist or the producer, a project can be put on hold. The project will resume as soon as possible with no penalties. Please contact me as soon as you are aware if the issue could impact your project. Likewise, I will inform you as soon as possible if any extraordinary situation arises with my studio that could cause a delay or prevent work.

Project Abandonment: I have compassion and understand that life can get chaotic and busy, but I humbly ask for you to let me know if you are having any issues that are preventing you from working on your records. If I do not receive any reply from communications to you after 14 days, I may assume that you may have abandoned your project. I then make a second and final attempt to contact you by phone and email. I will retain your files in my company's servers, but if I still don't hear from you after the second attempt, I cannot guarantee that you will retain your spot in my calendar nor can I gurantee that you can be re-booked in that year. As with any creative partnership, good communication is key because it provides the best results. You can always text or call the number I provide at any time if you are having any issues that prevent you from working. We can then try to work out an alternative schedule that will work for the situation. We are very understanding, and we realize that things can and do happen. Thank you.

Code of Ethics/Privacy: All work is confidential, and no unauthorized use of your songs, music, sounds or video can be released or visible without explicit permission or agreement. All personal information is kept secure and confidential.
